Students Get Hands-on Training in EKG Interpretation
Students at the University of
Sint Eustatius School of Medicine have sampled
one of the many new hands-on workshops created
to improve their medical education. The EKG interpretation
workshop was created by second-year medical student
Marc Ginsburg and was presented to the medical
students this month. During the course of the
workshop, the medical students are trained to
interpret the electrocardiogram (EKG), and to
recognize dangerous abnormal rhythms of the heart.
The workshop was a tremendous success and will
be incorporated into the medical curriculum for
USESOMs current and future medical students.
