Board of Governors Honors Dr. Jim White

Minutes of the Meeting of the Board of Governors
May 19, 2008

Whereas tenure is an acknowledgement by faculty colleagues, academic deans and the Board of Governors of demonstrated excellence in the past and anticipated continued excellence in the future and

Whereas USESOM policy allows the Board of Governors the privilege of awarding tenure to worthy members of the faculty who have been recommended by their faculty colleagues and the academic deans and

Whereas Dr. Jim White has demonstrated excellence throughout his nine years of teaching, service and leadership at USESOM and

Whereas Dr. White’s excellence has often been demonstrated during times of ill health and at great personal sacrifice and discomfort and

Whereas the Faculty Promotion and Tenure Committee and the academic deans have unanimously and enthusiastically recommended the awarding of tenure to Dr. White,

Now therefore be it resolved that the USESOM Board of Governors honor and recognize Dr. Jim White by awarding him tenure and expressing on behalf of the entire institution deep and sincere gratitude for his excellence in teaching, service and leadership to the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine.

Be it further resolved that the USESOM Board of Governors wish Dr. White continued success as a tenured member of the USESOM faculty.
