Statia Medical School Organization Donates to Animal Welfare

The Asian Student Association (ASA) of the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine presented the Animal Welfare League (AWL) of Sint Eustatius with a charitable donation of U.S.$1000.00. The ASA, which is a club operating under the leadership of Associate Professor of Pathology Dr. Paul Koo, has the mission to blend cultural diversity with clinical compassion and the practice of humanism in a dynamic environment through living, learning and teaching.  The ASA students raised the money for the AWL through an auction.  AWL will use the generous donation to spay and neuter local pets and for medical care for sick or injured animals. Any further donations can be made by contacting one of the AWL board members, President Dr. Garry Swanston, Dr. Lori Trout, Corrie Van Duren or Tina Smith.
